CURRICULUM VITAE

Kerstin von der Krone is Head of the Judaica Division at the University Library J.C. Senckenberg, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main since November 2019. Previously, she held positions at the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (Braunschweig) and the German Historical Institute Washington. At the GHI she helped to establish the special research focus History of Knowledge and co-founded the blog project History of Knowledge: Research, Resources, Perspectives.
Her fields of research include Jewish history in Central Europe in the modern era and the history of Jewish thought; she focuses in particular on communication practices related to knowledge production, education and scholarship as well as the possibilities and limits of political interaction in modern Jewish history.
She studied Jewish Studies, Political Science, and Media and Communication Studies in Berlin and Tel Aviv and holds a master’s degree in Jewish Studies (Freie Universität Berlin, 2004) and a PhD in Religious Studies (University of Erfurt, 2010). Her research was supported by several fellowships and grants, including the DAAD, the German National Academic Foundation, the Minerva Foundation and the American Jewish Archives.
